You just never know what might pop out of my mouth at any given moment. I might be talking about my Indian Ringneck, or Full Time RVing. Maybe I'll be talking about the path to happiness or griping about the state of healthcare or maybe about chronic illness. I have lots to say and sometimes I'm just plain RANDOM.

What is Next?

On the livestream this evening I watched as two very different, very vibrant, people came to the microphone with the following thoughts.
The first man, Max, said he was feeling the loss of purpose. He had been at the Occupy Wall Street encampment since day one. At first he felt that it wasn’t going to go anywhere, then as more people arrived he thought “this is going to really go somewhere”, and now he is back to wondering where it is going and how.
At this point the other man, Lance, approached the microphone and said “the revolution is internal”. He said we need to believe and feel this within us. He wants to create a “wish group” that would work together to send energy into the universe.
At this point Max said the revolution is external because the stuff that Lance was talking about is perceived and useful but it has to happen on the physical level because we are interacting with the physical world
In my opinion we have already achieved the internal. The internal emotions, thoughts, feelings, and sense is what brought the Occupy movement together. I absolutely believe this is still useful but it certainly goes beyond that now.
There is a quote by Mahatma Gandhi that says “Be the change you want to see in the world”. This quote speaks of changing the self first and by doing so we affect the world around us and we create change in that fashion. It’s almost like the concept of teach by example.
However there is a further understanding of this. One person can be the change and it affects the next and the next. Once many people have reached that “mass” consensus of belief, then the process of thought must continue while we learn to change our actions to continue to teach.
In the case of the Occupy Movement, this means now that we have reached a mass number of people who are thinking, feeling, and believing in a similar fashion, it is now time to manifest within the physical the larger changes. We need to focus and do something physical.
Both the thought and the physical will have to come together and work as one force to move forward and create the real change that we desire. The desire brought us together, the shared emotion and belief moved us forward, and now the two together must help us to create the next step which is to DO something in the physical to create.
The metaphysical portion in the form of feeling and “wishing” is not any less useful. We need that to continue to move forward in an awake, aware, and fully unified fashion. It is simply time for that metaphysical and the physical to now work together.
What is the next step? I don’t know, these speakers didn’t know, the chatters didn’t know. What we all DO know is that there does have to be a next step. We have acquired the masses. We have come together. We are feeling the necessary feelings. Now it’s time to DO something. It’s time to CREATE change via action in the physical.
